And Off They Go…

Just like that. My babies will always be my babies, but I am in awe of how quickly they became these little girls, hand in hand, walking to Mimi’s class on her first day of Kindergarten…

I swear it was just yesterday that Mimi was:

and Sami was:

and together they were:

When I think of the blur that these past five years have been– reaching milestone after milestone, redirecting our course by heading to therapies when other milestones weren’t met, and giving them the best start possible in school with the LEAP program– I am so proud of how far they have come and where they are heading…

Looking at the first picture again of my two big girls, hand in hand on their way to Mimi’s Kindergarten class, I’m reminded of a quote:

“Making the decision to have a child- it’s momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around your body…”

~ Elizabeth Stone

How true it is.

    • Thank you so much Maria for seeing the film and for taking the time to reach out- to me. So sorry for this long overdue reply! You never really know how strong you are until you are forced to be, and I was very fortunate to have a lot of supportive family and friends, and counseling to get me through. Wishing you and yours lots of love and blessings as well- may your moments be happy… 🙂 ❤

  2. Hi! I just finished watching Rebirth. I write this with tears in my eyes. Tears of sadness, but also of happiness and hope to know, that after such a great tragedy, you were able to find happiness again. It really inspires me to try and live a better life, and to not pity myself so much, when things aren’t going as planned. Rebirth and your story really puts things into perspective. Your a strong women, and I wish only the best to you, your husband, and your beautiful girls!

I am from Jackson Heights, by the way. I was born and raised here, and still reside here. I have been a fan of Innerpeace, since its first year. I am so happy that the store has stayed in the neighborhood, for this long. Its really a beautiful store, and its become a staple here in JH. My sister and I always say that if your friend were to sell it, we would be the first ones to try and purchase it, lol. I always look at Sergio’s memorial before leaving…..

  3. Thank you so much Kat for your beautiful message- I am so sorry it has taken me this long to respond. Thank you for seeing the film and for taking the time to reach out to me- it really warms my heart to know you still frequent my first “baby”, Inner Peace and that you see Sergio’s smiling face when you visit. Wishing you and your family lots of love and many blessings always… 🙂 ❤
